Management Committee

According to Articles 8 and 9 of the Internal Regulations of EDUCA (Doctoral School of the University of Cádiz):

  • The Management Committee is the ordinary collegiate governing body of the School, responsible for implementing the rules governing the center’s activities and ensuring compliance with the agreements, guidelines, and instructions set forth by the Board of Trustees. 
  • Its composition shall be as follows:

d) If applicable, a representative from each of the collaborating entities associated with the School, as specified in the corresponding agreement, which grants them the right to be part of the School’s Management Committee.

e) Three representatives from among the doctoral students of the School.

f) A representative from the Administrative and Services Staff of the School.

  • The School’s Management Committee shall be renewed every four years, following the procedure determined by the School’s Board of Trustees. The appointment and dismissal of the School’s Director, however, shall be decided by the Rector in each case.

Responsibilities of the School’s Management Committee

  • The School’s Management Committee is responsible for the organization and management of the School, following the guidelines set by the Board of Trustees at any given time. 
  • In particular, the Management Committee is responsible for the following functions:

a) Assisting the Board of Trustees in the tasks assigned to it.

b) Coordinating the programs and activities offered and managed by the Center.

c) Coordinating the activities and functions assigned to the academic committees of the Doctoral Programs or other degree programs, especially Master’s programs.

d) Proposing Doctoral Programs to the School’s Board of Trustees for further submission to the University of Cadiz’s Doctoral Committee and overseeing the management of Doctoral Programs.

e)Reviewing the proposals from the coordinators of the School’s Doctoral Programs, making decisions on the drafting of the corresponding reports or their modifications, and submitting the relevant reports to the School’s Board of Trustees for approval.

f) Formulating proposals for the composition of the academic committees of the School’s Doctoral Programs to the Board of Trustees of the School, for subsequent submission to the Doctoral Committee of the University of Cadiz, as well as the dismissal and replacement of their members.

g) Approving the inclusion and removal of members from the School’s Doctoral Programs, based on the terms of the reports from the academic committees.

h) Establishing cross-training activities for doctoral students, defining and regulating activities of interest for their training.

i) Proposing collaboration measures with other entities to the Board of Trustees, preparing proposals for agreements for approval by the Board of Trustees and subsequent processing.

j) Approving the annual report of the School Director, which should include a report on the School’s activities and the annual strategic plan of the School.

k) Proposing and executing the School’s budget.

l) Performing the functions entrusted by any regulation to center committees, provided there is no specific committee in the School assuming these functions, and this Regulation is modified accordingly.
